Welcome to join us on an exciting trip on Gotland. Visit interesting places and try your skills in Viking handicrafts and games!
At the harbour in Wisby, a contemporary dressed guide meets you to bring you on a journey back into the Viking-Age. On beautiful roads you travel southwards through the striking Gotlandic landscape. The first stop is at one of the largest harbour- and market places from the Viking-Age. Here, by listening to lively descriptions and looking at genuine artefacts, we try to give you a picture of society 1000 years ago.
You will also be able to visit a church from the MiddleAges.
The next stop is Tofta Village of Vikings, a reconstructed village which shows how a farm might have appeared during the 9th century. Here you will have the opportunity to play games and sports of the era and to make your own Viking handicraft. Bake bread after a recipe from the era or challenge a “real” Viking in axe throwing. There are a lot of different activities to take part in and the choice is all yours!
Back in Wisby we have a look at the town and some of the amazing buildings from the 13th century!
